Firebird Prototype

Hi folks.

This guitar is the original prototype for what became the James Ready JR-1 guitar. The body shape is almost identical, but the feel is a little more vintage rock than metal, with smaller frets and less high output pickups.

And here’s the best bit – you can own it, for approximately what it cost me to build it, i.e. the purchase value of its Raw Parts!

Here’s the Spec:

Mahogany Body (50 years old +)

Mahogany Neck (Same source)

Rosewood Fingerboard.

Ebony Headstock

Mother Of Pearl Inlays (aged)

AAA+ Maple Top

Bare Knuckles Pickups (Mule in the Bridge – Stormy Monday in the Neck)

Single Vol Pot /Coil Tap switch

Fully Bound neck and body (including fret ends)

Frictionless Bridge

String through Body design

Bone Nut

Rear Disc Locking Tuners

Nitrocellulose finish

Maple electrics cover

Biflex Truss Rod

Strap Locks

Hardshell Case by SKB

I’ve been back through the paperwork I’ve been able to find for this guitar and I think that the approximate cost of building this guitar was about £850 including finishes and expendables.

So, the first sensible offer at anywhere near that price will secure the one and only prototype of this guitar, of which there will now be no more re issues!

Bearing in mind that the retail of the pickups alone is £220, and the case around £100, it’s an exceptional bargain, never to be repeated!

So, you know how to contact me, make me an offer before it’s gone….
